Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Continuing on with the car theme, even if our Count Car is out of commission following some fuel pump failures and fouled plugs.

We read the book and to date this is the longest movie he’s sat through. The music is so good even the baby loves it. I’ve clipped them and they are in a folder on the hard drive attached to the television to listen to before bedtime.

My favorite part about this one is that we have the original Ian Fleming book (my head canon is that Pott is Q’s grandfather) and the plethora of material from the film, and the fact that the film was so different from the book that another book based on the film was published and sold.

We haven’t read any of the sequels yet.

We also added a holdover case between the two flat ones this time as it was sitting upstairs gathering dust and was the perfect size for the largest scale model Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car that he got for Christmas.

Apparently, they aren’t quite as exacting and as tiring as they used to be.

We also started something with this changeout, too. I have a wall in my workshop where we add material from exhibits I have done before, and now we are adding the material from the exhibits he’s done as well. I’ll have to make an update post on the Exhibit Wall at some point.

    1. I like to think so. I also think the Bloom’s Mammoth Circus in the original Dr. Dolittle is John Hammond’s great-grandfather. Linking the Pushmi-Pullyu circus to Jurassic Park.
